Railway to the past

The train festival of Steam Train Goes-Borsele is back! Young and old can enjoy impressive trains, machines and much more again. Experience the power of steam and diesel, with hissing machines, shrill whistles and roaring engines. Travel along with the trains and enjoy a day full of railway nostalgia.

Highlights

Steam locomotive 23 023 from Stoomstichting Nederland is our guest. A unique event, because you do not normally see such large locomotives here. Built in 1952, it is also a relatively young steam locomotive. A nice contrast to our own machines!

Other guests: Steam locomotive number 5 ‘Enkhuizen’ from Museumstoomtram Hoorn- Medemblik and diesel locomotive 2454 from Stichting 2454 CREW.

Together with the own SGB rolling stock and carriages of Stoomstichting Nederland, the three guest locomotives guarantee a varied timetable on the museum railway line to Hoedekenskerke.

On the museum grounds in Goes, you can also see the mP 3029 electric mail train and Mat ’64 904 electric multiple unit, both from Stichting 2454 CREW.

What can you experience?

You can take a wonderful trip on a nostalgic train to Kwadendamme, Hoedekenskerke or (with the beautiful replica of the omC railcar) even all the way to Baarland.

But ‘Railway to the past’ is more than that:

• Visit to the workshop and the museum grounds
• Shunting steam and diesel locomotives
• Steam tractors
• Enjoying the spectacle from a terrace
