Kwadendamme station is the favourite destination for animal and nature lovers. You can visit Berkenhof Tropical Zoo here, or take a nice stroll in nature reserve ‘Zwaakse Weel’.

The train does not wait here, so please check the timetable to see when you can travel onwards, or back.

Berkenhof Tropical Zoo

Berkenhof Tropical Zoo will enchant you with stunning tropical birds, reptiles and insects, while butterflies flutter all around you. Even when it is cold and wet outside, you’ll be comfy and toasty in the indoor mini jungle!

The Dino Expo and the fossil mine also have much to offer. And don’t forget the Kids Jungle: a large indoor play jungle for children.

The restaurant offers a variety of food and drink options: inside, on the outdoor terrace, or even on the Kids Jungle’s indoor terrace. You can relax here with a drink while the kids play to their heart’s content.

Zwaakse Weel Nature Reserve

If you leave Kwadendamme station via the other side, you will find yourself in Natuurmonumenten’s Zwaakse Weel Nature Reserve. The reserve offers some lovely walks. And why not visit the Butterfly Experience Path or the Zwaakse Weel Information Point. Please visit Natuurmonumenten for more information.
